EDGE-OF-ALGONQUIN

This special forested tract of land is situated on the ‘Algonquin Dome’ – the high elevation watershed divide between the Ottawa Valley and Georgian Bay.

A stream on our property forms one of the tributaries of the Magnetawan River system flowing west. Two km from our camp are the headwaters of the Nipissing River flowing east to the Ottawa River.

The camp itself is situated 4 km off of the northern west side boundary of
Algonquin Provincial Park.

The property was FSC certified in 2006 to ensure sustainable forest harvesting practices.

EdgeOfAlgonquin has received two awards in recognition for enhancing wildlife habitat and improving the forest ecosystem: The Parry Sound-Muskoka ‘Stewardship Award’ and the  Wildlife Habitat Canada ‘Biodiversity Conservation Award’

Due to its remote location the camp is heated by wood and powered by solar.
